NEIGE

A new opera by Catherine Kontz

Keiko’s Kimonos

Keiko, our assistant director, has brought some kimonos from her personal collection so we can use them for practice before we try the real costumes.

The opera is coming alive!

Great first day of rehearsals yesterday! Very happy to welcome Gerry Cornelius, who will conduct the opera, here in Luxembourg! Keiko and I also made a good start on blocking the scenes of Act 1 with singers Rodrigo Ferreira, Omar Ebrahim, Edwards Grint and Vincent Pavesi. It’s slowly taking shape!

Today first stop for me at Radio 100.7. From 9.30-11.00 local time you can tune in and hear me talk about music that has influenced me over the years. You might also get some details on composing Neige.

After that we will try to tackle the rest of Act 1 and some of Act 3. Looking forward to see what the day brings!

Who wants to be a samurai?

Yesterday we spent a day shooting more material for the projections with tightrope walker Katharina Dröscher and dancer Reveriano Camil who will also perform in the show. We were also joined by a new generation of stage and screen artists - Dorothy Hendry, Lilly Vadaneaux and Emmylou Växby - who were delightful to work with!
