“Die luxemburgische Komponistin Catherine Kontz hat mit ihrer ersten großen Oper Neige ein bewegendes Stück über die Liebe, die Kunst und die Reise zum Ich vertont”
I came across this photo by chance while thumbing through a book about Luxembourg in a waiting room the other day. Looks like they had quite a show in Echternach in 1910.
Looking forward to see it all come together tonight in the dress rehearsal! Let the show begin!!

This morning we finally have the long-awaited Sitzprobe! It will be the first time that we hear the music as it is meant to be! Can’t tell you how excited I am to welcome the Lucilin Ensemble on stage! The last piece of the puzzle is being put into place!

Some of us use the handwritten score for rehearsals, others the digitalised version. Both have pros and cons… It is useful to have both actually!

Great first day of rehearsals yesterday! Very happy to welcome Gerry Cornelius, who will conduct the opera, here in Luxembourg! Keiko and I also made a good start on blocking the scenes of Act 1 with singers Rodrigo Ferreira, Omar Ebrahim, Edwards Grint and Vincent Pavesi. It’s slowly taking shape!
Today first stop for me at Radio 100.7. From 9.30-11.00 local time you can tune in and hear me talk about music that has influenced me over the years. You might also get some details on composing Neige.
After that we will try to tackle the rest of Act 1 and some of Act 3. Looking forward to see what the day brings!
The last tickets for Neige went already a few weeks ago! Both shows are now completely sold out. If you would like to get your hands on a ticket, it is worth contacting the theatre for possible returns.
Just one month to go now! How exciting!
Tickets for 19th and 20th December at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg have gone on sale.
Not long to go now!!
